Before a surveyor sets up on a live rail corridor or a billion-dollar civil job, someone in the client's assurance team has to be satisfied the firm is competent. Accreditation closes that question without anyone having to take our word for it.
Each item below is issued by an external body, carries a registration number, and can be checked.
Transport for NSW — Technically Assured Organisation (TAO 209)
Elite Survey Pty Ltd holds TAO number 209, issued November 2022 and signed by John Hardwick, Executive Director, Asset Management, and Kim Appleby, Director, Supplier Assurance and Engagement. The TAO Scheme is a critical component of the TfNSW Technical Supplier Assurance Framework. It recognises technical capability within the transport sector and allows an organisation to compete to provide self-assured services on Transport assets. In plain terms: TfNSW has assessed our engineering management arrangements, the skills and experience of our people and the maturity of the business, and recorded that our work can be assured under our own systems rather than needing a third party to assure it for us.
Authorised scope: Civil Engineering Infrastructure — Engineering Surveying, across the Acquire, Operate & Maintain, and Dispose phases of the TfNSW asset life cycle. Reconfirmed in a signed TAO Engineering Services Matrix – Rail dated 30 April 2024. The assessment was carried out 12 September to 7 October 2022 by a four-person TfNSW team including a dedicated Engineering Surveying assessor. TAO authorisation is not a contract, an endorsement or an appointment by Transport for NSW, and we may only work within our authorised engineering scope.
ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System — Registration No. AU1424-QC
Elite Survey has held ISO 9001 certification continuously since 27 August 2013 — through every recertification cycle since, currently registered to ISO 9001:2015 under number AU1424-QC and approved through to August 2027. Certification is issued by TQCSI under JAS-ANZ accreditation. The registered scope is specific: the provision of construction engineering survey services.
Thirteen years of unbroken certification is a harder thing to point at than a single certificate, and a more useful one. It means the quality system has survived every audit put to it since the year the company started — not that it passed once, recently, before a tender. On site it looks like this: survey data is traceable to its control, procedures are managed by the crew running the job, and the whole system is tested by random internal audits rather than announced ones.
Consulting Surveyors NSW
Elite Survey Pty Ltd is a current member of Consulting Surveyors NSW — formally the Association of Consulting Surveyors New South Wales Inc., the professional body representing consulting surveying practices across the state.
Membership is a practice-level commitment, not an individual one. It sets expectations for professional conduct, technical standards and the way a surveying business deals with its clients, and it connects us to the wider body of practice — award standards, industry interpretation and the professional consensus on how surveying work should be run in NSW.
