Marine Survey Sydney — proven on the harbours, marinas and toughest marine sites
Cockle Bay Pontoon
Client: Waterway Constructions Pty Ltd
Method: Real-time set-out and continuous positional monitoring during pontoon fixing
Accuracy: pontoon welded in design location under live tidal movement
Non-standard fixed-pile wharf: pontoon welded to a pile embedded in rock. Elite's "strap system" held it steady against tidal movement, with continuous checks before the welding order was issued.
The Anchorage, Port Stephens
Client: Corlette Point Marina Holdings Pty Ltd
Method: Hydrographic survey (full marina detail) + pile installation set-out, two-stage rebuild
Accuracy: piles installed within design tolerance
Full marina demolition and rebuild with new piles and pontoons. Elite used its hydrographic vessel/sounder to detail the entire marina to a higher standard and coverage than the traditional pole-and-instrument method, ahead of a two-stage (eastern then western) pile and pontoon replacement.
HMAS Waterhen Boat Ramp Upgrade
Client: HMAS Waterhen
Method: Z-Boat hydrographic survey (pre & post excavation)
Accuracy: piles positioned within 20mm of design below waterline
Underwater construction for the HMAS Waterhen boat ramp upgrade required precise positioning below the waterline. Elite carried out an initial hydrographic Z-Boat survey, a post-excavation Z-Boat survey, and a final as-built hydrographic survey for QA, helping ensure piles were positioned within 20mm of design.
New Sydney Fish Markets, Blackwattle Bay
Client: SMC Marine / Transport for NSW (WAE submission)
Method:
Multibeam hydrographic survey — construction and post-construction bed clearance
Accuracy: Class A survey (Ports Australia Principles), depth uncertainty within 60–70mm
Construction of the new Sydney Fish Markets required certified seabed verification before handover. Elite delivered the hydrographic survey package within the works-as-executed submission to TfNSW — bed clearance confirmed across the works area between the silt curtain and the new structure, with a critical 3.8m obstruction on the finger wharf approach identified, removed and re-verified.
Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay
Client: Polaris Marine
Method: Multibeam pre-dredge survey — cruise berth plus offshore spoil ground (IHO S-44 Special Order)
Accuracy: ±150mm vertical at 95% confidence, 0.5m object detection
Accuracy: piles installed within design tolerance
Dredging at Sydney's cruise ship berth needed survey control nobody could argue with. Two sites surveyed in two days — 200% sonar coverage along the wharf face, with system accuracy verified against a stable wreck reference surveyed six months apart. Pre-dredge surfaces delivered so dredge volumes were measured, not estimated.
d'Albora Marina, Nelson Bay
Client: InDev Consulting
Method: Multibeam hydrographic survey to IHO S-44 Special Order, 100% bottom coverage
Accuracy: ±150mm vertical at 95% confidence
A full-coverage survey of a live marina, run at 10m line spacing between moored vessels. Seventeen seabed objects detected, measured and positioned — including submerged piles up to 8m long the client didn't know were there. Delivered as survey plan, 3D seabed model and certified report to support the marina redevelopment.
